Bridal Preparations at The Brides Parents House
Georgina got ready for her wedding at her parents home in Berkshire. I always think it’s lovely when a Bride gets ready for her wedding at the home she shared with her family. Such special memories.
It was a fun filled, busy morning for the bridal preparations, with Georgina, her sister, her best friends and her Mum and Dad all getting ready at the family home. Not to mention a few other people popping in and out to say hello, during the morning. Luckily the preparations we just a few minutes drive from the wedding venue, so everyone was ready on time.
Meeting the Groom
While I spent the morning hanging out with the ladies, Yasmin headed to Wellington College, to meet Aiden and his Groomsmen, while they put the finishing touches to the venue, and greeted the guests as they arrived for the big day. They also took the opportunity for a few photos in the dining hall too.
The I Do’s
Georgina and Aiden chose to hold their wedding at Wellington College, in Crowthorne, Berkshire. Having never photographed a wedding there before, I can tell you we were in for a treat!
Wellington College is absolutely perfect for a wedding. The long drive up to the old school building gives you a glimpse of the grounds, then it’s in through the Great Gate and into the Victorian Grand Reception for the wedding service. Georgina looked stunning, as she was walked down the aisle by her proud Dad.
An exchange of rings and a first kiss followed, then the newlyweds headed outside into a shower of confetti!
An afternoon Drinks Reception
During the afternoon, we all headed down to the lake for some family photos then, while the guests headed back to the courtyard for drinks, Yasmin and I took the new Mr and Mrs for a walk around the grounds, and took some time out to get some photos of just the two of them..
In what was a first for me, we finished by heading to the car park, for couple of snaps of the happy couple! Georgina and Aiden got together while they were both working at Wellington College, and a Henry Hoover together with a particular parking spot, tell the story of where they first met.
Dinner and Speeches
The wedding breakfast was served in the oak panelled Waterloo Hall, the original dining hall at Wellington College. During the speeches when it was revealed to Georgina and Aiden where they were going on honeymoon… I’m not sure I would trust someone else to book my honeymoon, but luckily it was a fabulous trip to Mexico! Though it may have been fun to see their faces it they were presented with a long weekend in Margate. Ha!
Now, its not often that I devote a whole section to cake. Not that I don’t love cake - I really do. Coffee cake, lemon cake, chocolate cake, cheesecake, you name it, I’ll eat it. But a special mention does need to be made about the cake..
In fact, I should say cakes. Two cakes And a macaroon tower. And profiteroles.
And all made by the Groom. Yes, you heard me right!! THE GROOM MADE THE CAKES!! And they were A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Not only did they look fab, they tasted pretty good too.
I’m not sure I would recommend taking on the pressure of making your own wedding cake(s), but it sure was worth it! Wow.
Into the Evening
Once the cakes had been cut, it was time for a first dance, some groovy moves and a tunnel of sparklers, before we headed off into the night and let the guests carry on with the party.
Thanks for having us!!
